General Question

challenge coin is a small coin or medallion, bearing an organization’s insignia or emblem and carried by the organization’s members. Traditionally, they are given to prove membership when challenged and to enhance morale. In addition, they are also collected by service members. In practice, challenge coins are normally presented by unit commanders in recognition of special achievement by a member of the unit. They are also exchanged in recognition of visits to an organization.

I have been involved in incident management teams for 10 years now and each season I leave my wife and kids and come home when the job is done.  I have always wanted a token of remembrance for the fires/incidents that I have helped mitigate.  I have also wanted something to give to my children that they could have to remember why I was gone.  A challenge coin seemed the natural way to go.  Each coin is designed with meaning and can help tell the story of the fight we fought.

Each coin cost around $10-$13 to produce and ship.  The profit that remains will be split three ways.

  • 50% will be given to fallen firefighter foundations and sometimes law enforcement or other public safety foundations.
  • 25% will go to web site development, maintenance, and service.
  • 25% will go to inventory control, design, art work, and packaging.

Campaign Fire Coins will produce coins for Type 1 and Type 2 Incidents.  We are starting to produce coins for some of the larger fires on the West Coast.  We are also working on a line of historic wildland fires, fatality commercial/residential fires, and other disasters.

Currently we are producing 300 coins for each run.

When we run out of coins, we will order more based on the product demand.  It is possible that a new order will not be placed so order now while you can or sign up to receive notifications when the are available again.

Currently we do not.  We are working on some designs and will be avail at a later date.

Payment & Shipping

We accept paypal and we also accept major credit cards through Square.  See our checkout page.

Shipping and handling is included in the cost of the coin.

We ship via standard US Postal Service.  Shipping will take 3-7 days depending on your location.  We are based in Southern California.
